At Redwood Wrestling Club, our mission is to provide an inclusive, supportive, and dynamic environment that cultivates the athletic, personal, and academic growth of young wrestlers. Wrestling is an excellent way to get in shape and improve physical strength and endurance. It involves a full-body workout that focuses on developing core strength, flexibility, and agility. Additionally, wrestling promotes discipline, perseverance, and mental toughness. It teaches kids how to set goals, work hard, and overcome obstacles both on and off the mat. Furthermore, wrestling builds character and instills values like respect, sportsmanship, and fair play. It's a great sport for developing leadership skills and building strong friendships.

Joining our youth wrestling club provides a fun, challenging, and rewarding experience that helps kids grow both physically and mentally.

Private lesson: $50 per hour*

Private lessons will be by appointment only.



*Private lessons will be $50 per hour if RWC (Redwood Wrestling Club) is providing a wrestling partner for you.


If you choose to find and bring a partner for private lessons it would be $25 per wrestler. ($25 for you and $25 for your partner)

New to wrestling or looking to get back on the mat after a break? Our Beginner Wrestling class is the perfect place to start your grappling journey! This class is designed for kids and adults with little to no wrestling experience.

What to Expect:

  • Foundational techniques: Learn the building blocks of wrestling, including proper stance, positioning, escapes, takedowns, and pins. Our expert coaches break down complex skills into easy-to-follow steps.
  • Drills and live wrestling: Practice techniques through focused drills and controlled live wrestling matches. This helps solidify new skills in a supportive environment.
  • Conditioning for wrestling: Get in shape with sport-specific exercises that improve strength, endurance, and agility. Our conditioning workouts are challenging yet scalable to your fitness level.
  • Focus on safety: We stress proper technique and safety protocols to minimize the risk of injury. All athletes are expected to respect their training partners and coaches.

Class Details:

  • Class length: 1 hour
  • Practice schedule: Monday - Thursday 5pm - 6pm
  • Required equipment: Wrestling shoes, headgear (optional) and a water bottle

What to Expect:

  • Advanced techniques: Learn intricate moves like counters, turns, and near falls. Our expert coaches provide detailed instruction and demonstrations.
  • Situation-specific drilling: Practice techniques in live wrestling scenarios to improve decision-making and reaction time on the mat.
  • Intensive conditioning: Get in top wrestling shape with challenging conditioning exercises that target strength, speed, agility, and endurance.
  • Live wrestling matches: Test your skills in controlled matches against opponents of similar skill level. Receive constructive feedback from coaches to refine your technique.
  • Mental preparation: Develop strategies for match preparation, focus under pressure, and overcoming adversity on the mat.

  • Class length: 1.5 hours
  • Practice schedule: Monday - Thursday 6:15 pm - 7:45 pm

  • Live Wrestling: Live wrestling (sparring) will be a major part of the class, giving you the chance to apply what you've learned in a dynamic, real-time setting.
  • Conditioning: Wrestling is one of the most physically demanding sports out there. We'll incorporate conditioning exercises to help you build the strength, endurance, and agility you need to excel on the mat.

Who is this class for?

  • All Skill Levels: Whether you're a total beginner or have years of experience, this class is for anyone looking to improve their wrestling abilities.
  • All Ages: Open to anyone 12 and older (with parental consent for minors).
  • Both Genders: This is a co-ed class. We welcome wrestlers of all genders.

What to Expect:

  • A supportive, motivational environment focused on skill development and mutual respect.
  • A mix of instruction, drilling, live wrestling, and conditioning.
  • Opportunities to learn from more experienced wrestlers and help others grow as well.

Beginner

Our Pee Wee Wrestling class is the perfect introduction to the sport for your little wrestler! Designed for children aged 5 - 6, this class focuses on the fundamentals of wrestling in a fun, supportive environment.

What to Expect:

  • Basic wrestling techniques: Your child will learn essential skills like stance, movement, escapes, and takedowns. We break down complex moves into age-appropriate steps for easy understanding.
  • Games and drills: We use engaging games and activities to teach wrestling concepts. This keeps practice exciting and promotes active learning.
  • Emphasis on safety: Our experienced coaches prioritize proper technique to prevent injuries. Kids are grouped by age and skill level to ensure everyone feels comfortable.
  • Building confidence and sportsmanship: We celebrate effort and improvement, not just wins. Your child will develop a positive attitude towards the sport and learn valuable life skills like perseverance and respect for others.

  • Class length: 45 minutes
  • Practice schedule: Monday - Thursday 11am - 12pm
  • Required equipment: Wrestling shoes, headgear (recommended but not required)

The instructor will provide personalized attention, correct form, and offer techniques and drills to help you improve rapidly. Private classes are a great option for those who want a more focused and flexible schedule. They're perfect for athletes who want to take their wrestling skills to the next level in a supportive and challenging environment.
